Beach Day in Tahoe

Today was a welcome change of pace. We left the house at 9:45 and headed straight to the Lake Tahoe Fund, where we spent time learning how different organizations collaborate to finance environmental initiatives across the Tahoe Basin. It was genuinely fascinating, hearing about the emerging technologies and innovative approaches being used to protect the lake's ecosystem made it the clear highlight of the day. From there, we made our way to the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, where the focus shifted to the deeper history of conservation efforts in the region. It was a fitting follow-up, giving context to everything we'd just heard. After the meeting, the group split. Some headed home, but the rest of us made our way down to Nevada Beacj and it did not disappoint. The water was impossibly clear, the mountains carved a striking line across the horizon, and the sand was warm underfoot. The lake itself was Freezing. But that's part of the charm. It was a great day and definetly
more relaxed than the first, and a reminder of exactly why this place is worth protecting.
